Prestige Toyota Continues Being Green

by Nate Torvik on July 26, 2013

prius-white-frontExecutives at Toyota Motor Corporation recently announced that the company has surpassed a new landmark in the world of hybrid vehicles, selling more than five million hybrids in just 16 years. The team at Prestige Toyota is proud to be a part of such an outstanding tradition of environmentally friendly vehicles and practices, as an authorized Toyota dealership in NJ.

Ramsey, NJ (PRWEB) July 26, 2013

Toyota Motor Corporation introduced the first Toyota Prius back in 1997, and consumer response has increased every year since. In March 2013, executives at Toyota announced that the brand had sold more than five million hybrid vehicles, a milestone for the originator of the hybrid. Prestige Toyota in Ramsey, New Jersey, has sold thousands of Toyota hybrids and has an outstanding inventory of the groundbreaking Prius family, as well as the latest Camry, Avalon, and Highlander hybrid models.

Keeping with their green mantra, the company has also had an impact on the environment using other innovative ideas, such as the adoption more than 10 years ago of returnable containers used for shipping parts and accessories. This effort alone has saved 220 million pounds of wood and 145 million pounds of cardboard, the equivalent of 2.7 billion trees, according to a release from Toyota.

“Toyota has been one of the leaders in green vehicles for decades, but they go above and beyond in other areas of their operations,” said Steve Reedy, general sales manager at Prestige Toyota. “They continuously work to find ways to make their production facilities more efficient while lowering emissions, as well as sustainable new ideas like their returnable containers. As the world’s largest automaker, it is very important that trends and new technologies start with them, so others can follow. We are extremely honored to be a part of all of the amazing work that they have done over the years and are always looking forward to learning about what they come up with next.”

The legendary Prius, the model that started the hybrid vehicle craze, recently passed the three-million-units-sold mark in late June 2013. Toyota has also committed to invest more money into its research and development facilities, hoping to discover even more ways to reduce its carbon footprint.
