Reasons to Sell Your Junk Car, Part 3

by Joe Ferguson on March 27, 2013

If you have a junk car but can’t find it in yourself to get rid of it, either because of sentimental attachment or laziness, here are some reasons to let your dilapidated automobile go. This is the final installment in a 3- part series attempting to convince you to dispose of your junk car.

Legal Ramifications

You may not care that there’s a junk car in front of your house or rusting out in the backyard and there’s nothing wrong with that. Everyone has a right to their own opinion – but that notion includes your neighbors as well. Instead of irritating your neighborhood you could sell your car to a junk car buyer.

Your neighbors may not appreciate your dilapidated automobile taking up parking space on the street. A broken down car isn’t exactly the aesthetic accoutrement your home owner’s association is looking for. If there are enough complaints from neighbors about your junk car sitting in the driveway or street, you could end up with some hefty fines.

Instead of accumulating more fines – it would be wise to actually earn some cash from your clunker by sending it off to a salvage yard.

Extra Money

I’ve repeated this point in the previous installments but it is definitely worth noting yet again. A junk car taking up space anywhere on your property is a missed opportunity. If you’re still asking yourself, “Should I sell my car?” The answer is most certainly yes.

In these tough economic times everyone could use some padding in their wallet. A junk car is easily worth at least a couple hundred bucks. You can use this extra money for literally anything but our suggestion would definitely be to invest in a new car – one that actually runs.
