Awaiting the Mercedes-Benz 2014 S-Class

by Nate Torvik on March 25, 2013

2013 has been a busy year for Mercedes. It started with an entire new line of E-Class models; then Mercedes added a new class in the CLA-Class; next they introduced an innovative supercar in the SLS AMG Black Series. Now, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been unveiled in all of its smooth, curvaceous, posh glory. Ever the flagship vehicle for luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz, the S-Class has taken the mantle of becoming the ultimate luxury cruiser, especially with the departure of the Maybach brand.

The new 2014 S-Class has taken cues from some of the other recent releases from Mercedes. According to Car and Driver, it has inherited the body-side creases of the CLA-Class as well as the redesigned front- end styling of the upcoming E-Class. There are also hints of the CL-Class and previous S-Class models. As the leader for the brand, it makes sense that it would incorporate features from so many other vehicles, but where it really shines is the interior.

Ambient lighting that encircles the sweeping dashboard highlights the instrument panel, which features two 12-inch screens amongst the many gauges. As an uber luxurious sedan, the back seat is also of major emphasis, providing five different rear-seat options, with Executive option selectors gaining massage-infused seats. Yes, because the S-Class doesn’t provide enough class and luxury, it needed massaging rear seats.

Of course, the 2014 S-Class will also come with the latest safety systems, as well as the ultimate infotainment experience for every passenger. There is seemingly nothing that this latest premier model from Mercedes-Benz can’t do, and upon its May debut, the world had better be prepared for yet another industry changing vehicle from the company that started it all.
