2012 a Year of Growth, Success for Mercedes-Benz

by Nate Torvik on January 3, 2013

As any year comes to a close, it is often habitual to look back and reminisce about all of the events from the year, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Fortunately, 2012 was definitely a year to be remembered for Mercedes-Benz, one of the most popular and renowned automotive companies in the world. Not only is the company having record-setting levels of success, the impact they have had on the industry over the course of 2012 has been immense, leading us into the next stages of automotive history.

The biggest strides that Mercedes made in 2012 were its record sales numbers, allowing them to develop and produce new models and classes. This has given those in the U.S. the ability to experience some of the vehicles that would otherwise remain European-only vehicles, like the recently introduced CLA-Class. With increasing demand, the company has also increased its production capacity, enabling it to manufacture a new record amount of vehicles as well.

The increases in production and sales have also enabled Mercedes to expand to markets that were in desperate need of extra attention. They are investing $2.4 billion in America’s major plant in Alabama, according to Benzinsider.com. With all of these new developments, it seems as if the sky is the limit for the luxury automotive giant.

After winning many awards for design and eco-friendly technology in vehicles such as the 2013 GL-Class, Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the success of 2012 with its eye firmly fixed on 2013 and beyond. They know the best is yet to come.
