Ringing in the New Year with the Mercedes CLA-Class

by Nate Torvik on December 19, 2012

Who wouldn’t want the excitement of ringing in the New Year with a Mercedes-Benz? Well, in 2013 a new model added to the lineup of Mercedes-Benz vehicles offered on this side of the pond is creating a stir all its own. The all-new Mercedes CLA-Class vehicle, which will debut in 2013, will be the first of its kind on the U.S. market, and Mercedes fans are already excited. In a “sneak preview” of sorts, some spy shots and videos have been released before the debut of the CLA-Class.

The CLA-Class is piggy-backing off of the immensely successful A-Class, which was released in Europe but has not made the transition to the states. The A-Class is a small, economical hatchback that has been extremely popular with the European population since its release. The CLA-Class is sharing the same platform as the smaller hatchback, but this four-door sports sedan will be much more “American.”

It looks as if the CLA-Class will have two models to start, the base model and an AMG® version. We can assume that it will have the basic Mercedes functions and amenities, including 4MATIC® and a diesel option. If Mercedes has even half of the success in the U.S. that it had in Europe upon the release of the A-Class, you can be certain that more varieties will become available for the American consumer base. The debut of the CLA-Class is certain to turn some heads come January, but if there is a more exciting car company to follow with the release of new models and products, I’m not sure what it is.
