Tennis is Like a Fine Mercedes-Benz

by Nate Torvik on August 15, 2012

In just a few weeks, the greatest players in the world of tennis will be coming to New York City. The US Open, one of the United States Tennis Association’s four majors, begins on August 27. Players like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova will be competing for the crown in the year’s last major at Flushing Meadows.

Sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, the US Open is played on a hard court, one of the more difficult surfaces for many players.  The surface is rough on the joints, with a lot of heavy impact. Other tournaments, such as Wimbledon and the French Open, are played on the much softer surfaces of grass and clay. Being the last major tournament of the year, the US Open is not easy on the athletes. Lucky for them, when they are done playing, they get to leave in a Mercedes-Benz.

As the official vehicle of the US Open, Mercedes-Benz supplies the transportation for the players, specials guests, and other tournament personnel. At least the players will have some time to kick back and relax while they are being driven around in their luxurious Mercedes SUV or sedan. As a proponent of performing at a higher standard and maintaining the feel of power and strength, Mercedes can relate to the high standards that these players maintain to be competitive.

Mercedes is displaying many of the new 2013 Mercedes-Benz models throughout the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at the tournament. The all-new, upgraded 2013 C-Class will be on display, as well as the 2013 GLK-Class. Fans that are attending the tournament and are looking for something to do with a bit more exhilaration, muscle, and entertainment can visit an area devoted to the high-powered, perfectly crafted AMG series of vehicles. As if the tournament weren’t exciting enough, Mercedes-Benz is making sure that all attendees have the opportunity to participate in an even more stimulating experience.

The care, desire, and performance with which the best tennis players in the world execute their game are characteristics Mercedes strives to emulate every day. With some of the best vehicles on the road today in regards to performance, safety, and comfort, Mercedes-Benz constantly pushes to be at the top of its industry. Mercedes is proud to sponsor such a great tournament and is happy to provide the fans with the sheer excitement that comes with driving a Mercedes.
