Subaru Tops Consumer Reports

Subaru was recently rated as the best-overall automaker. This interesting story discusses Subaru and other Japanese automakers that top consumer reports.

Washington —Japanese automakers dominated Consumer Reports’ annual survey of the best cars, with Toyota Motor Corp. taking five of the “Top Picks.”

Subaru Motor Co. took the top score as best-overall automaker, knocking Honda Motor Co. from the top spot. Japanese automakers — Mazda Motor Corp., Toyota, Honda and Nissan Motor Co. — rounded out the top five.

“While Japanese automakers still hold the top five spots, their lead is shrinking,” said David Champion, senior director of Consumer Reports’ automotive test center. “In some of Honda’s and Toyota’s recently designed models, cost-cutting has become more noticeable.”
